Maybe They'll Love Me

Thu, 11/13/2014 - 22:07 -- ACaha

The curtain keeps me safe

The curtain is my friend

It is my armor from the judgements

The viciousness

The cruelty of others

But deep down I know

The curtain has to fall

For, living a life in the shadows

A prisoner in my own body

Is really no life at all

Maybe they'll love me

Maybe they'll encourage me

Maybe they'll prove every one of my doubts to be wrong

Then I realize, that "maybe" is all I need

So I slowly draw back the curtain

My wings are spread

My eyes are open

My heart is unguarded

I am reborn, I am free, I am ready
