The Me That They Can't See

Fri, 08/08/2014 - 21:30 -- m.chael

What do they see,

When they look at me?

They see what I pretend to be.

I don't get excited,

I don't get scared,

'Cause having emotion leaves one impaired.

For someone like me,

Who wants desperately,

To get through high school as quick as can be,

This is who I must be:

The me they can see.

But who I am,

Is more than that sham.

So why should my true self stay on the lam?

I love shows that shock,

And songs that rock,

I love to read,

It's what I need.

One day I'll get to be,

The me that they can't see.
