Meant to Be

She stands alone

with people all around her

she looks left--- she looks right

could she be invisible

Is this what her life was meant to be;

the laughter rings out around her

she turns and walks away

she doesn't remember the last time she laughed

but she will never forget this day

Is this what her life was meant to be;

she finds herself wondering what's next

could it get any worse

she tells herself it can't

Is this what her life was meant to be;

she walks through the next day without saying a single word

no one seemed to notice

her little voice was not heard

Is this what her life was meant to be;

she lies alone

with people all around her

she no longer looks around

she must be invisible

Maybe her life wasn't meant to be.
