Memories

The memories are dancing in my mind These memories I can’t seem to find Were they ever my own? To give to my throne? These memories are dancing in my mind They are so distant Distorted and Lost I see a girl crying As sad as can be Oh, once was that girl possibly me? She won’t touch the thoughts The pain or the scars Of A past regretfully “ours” She thinks she can hide But trust me I’ve tried The pain only gets worse I wish to call out And grab her by hand And assure her the future is grand From friends that will help When you dare speak a yelp And when you see the mirror It’s the same one as before But you’ll see so much more In a single glance You’ll see beauty You’ll see someone else You’ll see a chance If I could tell myself What I now know I would tell myself Life tends to hurt Memories never leave Get up off the dirt! Let yourself believe The future is so grand
