Memories

Location

Past the vacant eyes and her blank stare

Lies a Woman who was always there

With her once understanding silence

Now a mind in utter defiance

She slips farther away

The warm hugs

That welcoming smile

All the "I knows"

Seem to be only distant memories

Once Shared, now only my own

She slips farther away

The sun drenched lunches, on lazy afternoons

Long card games, in her living room

She slips farther away
