"Mercy Killers"

I am the vehicle that drives his daily thoughts

To be the only one on his mind shouldn't I want?

I drive for miles and miles, covering him in exhaust

I am the liquor that stains his hardened lips

When the bottle runs dry he savors every sip

If only I could have been as quick of fix

I am the protagonist of his dreams

He casted and directed me into every scene

And erased them all when I went to sleep

For I am the reason, I am the fault, I am the burden that spun your entirety to a halt

I lit the match and we made sparks, now I left hell to burn in your heart

I am the pack on the traveler's shoulder

He falls to his knees and pleads to "just hold her"

He lifts me up and lays me onto the earth

He didn’t know the weight when I gave him my heart

In sickness and in health, till death do us part

We made promises I can never unhurt

I used love to end my misery

He chokes on life and death I breathe

Stuck with ghosts and I am free
