Method to Madness

She escaped the world so full of hate and turmoil.

Her life a mess,

Her reality frightening and uncertain.

Becoming distant, hostile and detatched.

It's as if she were gone, as if she cracked.

Her heart broken, she's vulnerable and scared.

She felt no one knew, no one cared.

Needing to leave, to run away.

She finds solace in her mind. Why stay?

Her mind morphing, changing, becoming wild.

Reality painful, disastrous and futile.

Her mind a sanctuary, peaceful, mild.

But even in her daze she starts to see,

The madness, chaos, reality.

It seeps in, poisons all that's grand,

In her little, secret Wonderland.
