Mind Is Not

I found your pictures on my closet floor

The only way of knowing you were here before

And I no longer get waves of tears anymore

It's more like a thunderstorm

Waiting to explode

Never was dry

Enough rain to last a lifetime

Sleeping with no lights on

Dark comforts the storm

Years passing like the blink of an eye

Still punch drunk at the end of the night

Not drinking like you think I am

I'm more along the lines of sipping at an empty can

I do it to forget things about myself

Crashing over head, feeling dead

I don't think I will get caught

My heart is with you

But my mind is not

I no longer feel attached to you anymore

There is a way we can work this out

But you have to be here to hear the words come out of my
Mouth

That's why I ended this game of “I'm okay,”

Because we all know there is no way

That I'm living it all okay

They say this could not last forever

But I know that now it has been forever

I cannot imagine being you

Locked in bars

Driving cars

With guilt right behind you

I was once like a stalker

But now,

Saying that feels awkward

I cannot imagine being you right now

Caught by the cops

Feeling hot

My heart is with you

But my mind is not

I no longer feel attached to you anymore

There is a way we can work this out

But you have to be here to hear the words come out of my
Mouth

That's why I ended this game of “I'm okay,”

Because we all know there is no way

That I'm living it all okay

And now

If I am going to go somewhere now

I would already be there

But to you

No way no how

Because you left me here

To cry

Now it is my tears I dried

Now it is your turn to see me walk away

Because I am not okay

And you were caught

My heart is with you

But my mind is not
