Miss Velvet trapped me (its not what u think)

My gaze got caught in the tangle of her lustrous hair, And soon my limerence became hers, And soon my direction became pursuing her, When she led me to her perpetual trap, She was an illusion of beauty, Her velvet shine disappeared into aimless malice, and then into numbness, Her siren song led me to the life of an animal, Miss Velvet revealed her real name to me, when I came close enough to be vulnerable, Her name was worldly desires, And she was just portraying one, She told me about why I was so easy to lure, I wanted intensity, whether pure or impure, I felt love depraved; she showed me unhealthy love, I wanted a direction; she led me to desire, I wanted my life to be jocund; she gave me fake dopamine of chasing, I wanted melodies; she sang haunting siren songs, I never knew what any of these things actually looked like, And it cost me everything. Desires lead to satiation, Meaningful directions lead to salvation.
