Moment

Ecclesiastes 10:1

10 One dead fly makes the perfumer’s ointment give off a rancid stench,
so a little folly can outweigh much wisdom.

Just a peek for a moment … curiosity at first

only a few seconds to be engrained in the heart

It was only a little ... and now it has to stay

forever to be remembered leaving a definite scar

“All is forgiven” ... the fading cry of pure

It was a misgiving ... the conscience endures

Just a little harder … ready for the cure

not to find peace again ... that is now for sure

Innocence can’t be regained ... once it left, it’s gone

Not to return again to its home ... that was destroyed

Repairs here are impossible to the permanent damage done

All it shows is death in place ... where once life was employed

It lasted but a moment ... and it requires a lifetime

How can sin be so expensive ... that it costs my all?

It is just not sensible ... in the search of the sublime

as I lost the battle ... on the first day of my call

On a surface of pure white ... a dark blot draws attention

All eyes focus then on that spot ... without any effort

Looking at my surface ... it seems a contradiction

with here and there a spot of white ... bringing a lack of comfort

“I’m reaping what I‘ve sown” ... I cry when little goes wrong

“I am not worth compassion” ... I scream for all to hear

“I really don’t believe it” ... and made this into a song

for use to get attention ... in my self-made sphere
