Moments of Immortality.

Those moments of immortality

they hit us in bursts;

bold

bright

beautiful

remiding us that we are the stars that shoot across the night sky

the storms that rage against the gulf shore.

the time will come when our trails will fade away

and our lightning fizzles out

but in those moments of imortality we have no end or fears.

Those moments of immortality

that give us wings and let us fly like Icarus near the sun

our wing may melt away and we may plummet back to earth

but in those moments of immortality the high is worth the fall

We know nothing but

the wind

the sky

and the storm clouds

in those moments of immortality.
