Mooring. Mourning.

Location

The best week of our lives,

Partying all day everyday

Living life our way

The best week of our lives,

A vacation we all desrved

Our time in high school had been served

The best week of our lives,

No adult supervision

Making our own, not so smart decisions

The best week of our lives,

Mornings at the beach,

By night discovering things school didn't teach

The best week of our lives,

A rip current emerged

And one of our five submerged

The best week of our lives,

That was what we expected it to be

But loosing a friend was something we did not see

The best week of our lives,

Ended with a wound that only time could heal

And a death that would never feel real

I wish I could understand how someone so bright,

With so much ambition could so soon loose his life

A rip tide taking one who was so close to my friends and me

Is the way we ended what was to be,

The best week of our lives
