More than Punctuation

I saw it first in school,

What everyone else failed to see as a tool.

"The Dash Poem" was greeted with ash,

But it certainly hit me with a flash.

A simple punctuation mark,

Brought me out of the dark.

I realized I have only one shot,

To make the most of the chance I got.

The things we do,

Change the world’s view.

Turning our cheek,

For another week.

What a poem did to me,

I wish others could see.
