The Morning Sun

Sun, 09/21/2014 - 20:47 -- Dboy305

My body awakens with a refreshing shrug,

I plant my feet onto the cushioned rug,

I stretch my muscles from the last week run,

and thank God for the morning sun.

I devoured my breakfast until I was done,

I prepare myself and greet my mum,

her beautiful face glistened like a plum,

and thank God for the morning sun.

I rode to school while the traffic was numb,

pedestrians mingle while others run,

newspapers stack up 'till next month,

and thanked God for the morning sun.

I thank God for everything he's done,

I pray for those who dwell in the slums,

I remain grateful, I remain grateful,

and I thank God for the morning sun.
