Ms. Cellophane

To you I am invisible
A translucent tragedy
Grasping onto ridges
Scratch marks created by a ghost

I never mattered
You never cared
So substance became spirit and fled
Away to nothingness
Away to smoke and mirrors

I no longer am anybody
A trick of the light
Just a reflection of someone
Who used to know the world
And her place within it

Invisible Ms. Cellophane
Who impedes your view
And fogs up the glass
Just so that you won't, can't,
Forget me
