The music in my blood

The music in my blood
It is a drum that keeps on beating

Never faltering or swaying
always remaining in rythm

I never thought I would love music so
The passion that fostered in my heart
The love that I felt for this feeling
It compares to no other in the world

I never get much of a break in this world
life is always hectic and sporadic
But one thing is a constant
Music is always there for me

Music is the hammock I lay in
The breeze from the ocean
The soft pillow I rest my head on
The strength that I depend on

I may not need much from this world
But I do need music
Because without this
I am just the shell of a human
