This is my apology letter.

 It’s not that I don’t like the light,

It’s that I prefer the dark.

I don’t mean to shut you out

Or push you away.

I prefer the way the blankets

Feel around my shoulders

Rather than standing in a crowd,

Of people I don’t know.

It’s just that I don’t want to lose myself

In the people

I don’t want to be.

So why bother,

When I’m alone

 

And happy?
