You radiate a positivity that speaks in volumes when you smile
When the sun sets across your lips I have to daze for a while
I don’t know what it is about you; how you behave
how you can see the light in the smallest crevice of shade
how you illuminate energy that makes me want to change
how you capture happiness, which is so prone to run away
how’d you do it? How’d you make it stay?
how do you ignore the pain? how do you tell it to go away?
how do you stay on this path and not go astray?
how do you not break under pressure and live through each day?
Where did that strength come from?
Maybe one day -
I’ll be able to say that you taught me just how to be happy.
