My Best Friend

The moment I was introduced to the world,

I had it all to myself.

My parents gave me all their love,

Spent with me all their time,

Cared for me unconditionally.

Not until a new creature became my biggest rival...

Small, innocent, young, and wild, he was a nightmare.

Less attention for me, more for him

My brother and I fought over toy after toy

beating each other to the countless finish lines.

What I got out of our ritualistic competitive relationship

Has only drifted our relationships with each other.

As the days passed, I forgave my little brother and allowed our lives to flow

Together.

Our parents have become busier,

Drama is constantly playing with us.

Our relationship is a perfect blend,

My little brother is my true best friend.
