My Brown Eyes

My brown eyes are flawless

My brown eyes melt into golden pools of emotion and wisdom

That you can't even fathom

My brown eyes are those of an innocent doe

Caught in the headlights of the ever-changing world around me

My brown eyes are a glass of fine whiskey

Smooth and burning

With the intent to make you forget who you were and who you are

My brown eyes are not deep pools of emeralds

Or captivating shades of blue

My brown eyes are honey

Sweet, sweet honey

That stay stuck in your memory

Until your eyes lock with mine once more

I love my eyes

My brown eyes are the same brown eyes as my father's

The very same hue of chocolate brown

That melts into cocoa and reminds you of home

My brown eyes are not plain

My brown eyes are beautiful and big and curious

My brown eyes are hungry with curiosity for what lies ahead

My brown eyes are ready for what's to come

My brown eyes are flawless.
