My Country is on Her Knees

My Country is on Her Knees

The waters have turned red,

There’s something dead on the shore.

A loud boom from the trees,

Another man on his knees.

A family never seen,

Oh, why is death so mean?

Another man on his knees.

A scream to pierce the ear

Jesus is so, so near

Another man on his knees.

But why? Why? Why so soon?

To trap a family in heartache and gloom

Another man on his knees.

What cause? Why is the world like his body?

Lifeless. Heartless. And belongs to nobody.

Another man on his knees.

Infiltrated by a world unknown

This country that we call home

Another man on his knees.

It used to be from shore to shore

But this home doesn’t know anymore

Another man on his knees.

One day she’ll take her last breath

She has been overrun by death

America is on her knees.
