My Daddy

Location

I have known you forever,

You’re not even blood.

You’re not my real one

But I feel like

I’m yours.

I can talk to you about anything

And I know you won’t tell,

That is why I call you

Just to tell you

I miss you

And love you more.

Some how you and mom split

And it tore us apart,

But remember I’ll always be

Your cuddle baby

Because you have helped me

Overcome my biggest fears,

And

You taught me about God.

When we meet each time

I notice the big, bright smile

That reaches across your face,

Then the tears we both shed

When it is time to go.

I like it when we are in public,

We see somebody you know

And you say

"This is my daughter, Megan."

That is why

When I am with you

I feel a heavy load lifted off of my chest

Because I don’t have to miss you,

Instead I talk to you.

But it won’t take long,

Before the smiles will turn into tears.

If you weren’t in my life

I wouldn’t have anyone to call my daddy

I wish you and mommy could fix things quick.

I know that you both tell me

It will never happen,

But in my heart I believe it will.

Sometimes when I call you

I hide all the sadness

But I know you can tell

Because you always say,

"Everything is going to be okay."

Sometimes I can picture

You and mom together again.

We will be a happy family.

We can’t see into the future,

But no matter what happens

I know you will always be

My daddy.
