It began as a child at the age of five,

my dream to see nature's fury in real life.

This awe inspiring phenomena was sure to amaze,

the bright blue color of my watchful gaze.

I began researching the beginnings of the such

terrifying yet liberating storms I loved so much.

I gathered information and shared it with my peers

I said proudly, "I believe I have found my career!"

They'd say, "You chose quite early maybe you should wait.

I'd say, "I want a solid foundation before it's too late!"

As for my family and others I'd meet,

if they asked about the weather, boy, were they in for a treat!

I studied and studied up into my teens

and wierded people out on the high school scene.

I'd hear, "You took this conversation too far!" and "What a nerd!"

It was probably the funniest thing I ever heard!

None of it bothered me, in fact I was proud.

I was used to not being part of the "in" crowd.

My quiet personality is probably the biggest contributing factor to my

educational success so far.

I always got good grades, so in my teachers' eyes, I was a star.

I've made plenty of friends who give me undying support.

I look to them as a FIRST resort.

I am proud of my career choice and ready to put it in motion.

With my team behind me, I will sail across the college ocean.

All my scholarship money will be in good hands,

and I'll earn some of it through the Speak Your Mind Slam!
