My Generation

If I could change something, it'd be my generation.

I'd give them some common sense and even more motivation.

I'd bless them with the initiative it to took to build this land

While applauding their propensity for tolerance on the other hand.

I'd educate them on society and how to make it better

While berating them on the fact they don't look out for one another.

They'd learn how to respect the land like Native Americans did.

I'd teach them how to respect themselves like our parents did.

They need to learn how to strive and work for something without expecting a hand out,

But also how to uplift others who may be down and out.

If I could change this generation and open up their eyes.

I'd make sure that the real world wouldn't be to them a surprise.
