My Grandfather's Wings

Dear Grandfather,

It's been a while since we talked face to face

a couple months to be exact

but I will never ever forget the day

daddy told me you weren't coming back

on Easter Sunday you kissed me and told me goodbye

who knew it would mean forever

but knowing you were free from all your pain

made me feel a little better

I still cry from time to time

I've never felt pain like this before

but I can smile knowing I'll get my wings one day

and you'll be waiting for me at God's door

so don't worry about me grandfather

these tears will turm into smiles

cause I know for a fact your watching over me

on one of heaven's clouds

a angel on earth is what you were

and my gaurdian angel is what you will always be

so goodbye for now grandfather

I'll see you in my dreams
