My Happy Place

When life is not going my way

And I am having a very bad day.

I come home and walk through my door

And I see the thing that I adore.

My dog is sitting there waiting for me

Before I even turn my key.

The way she runs and the way she twists,

Are two things about her that I cannot resist.

With her flappy ears and pudgy face,

Those are two things that could never be replaced.

When I look at her soft fur and pouty eyes,

I smile and my adrenaline starts to rise.

My dog makes me as happy as I can be

Just by laying and playing with me.

Just by looking at my dogs face,

I know my dog is my happy place.
