My Inspiration

Fri, 12/13/2019 - 16:18 -- bsdfn11

It was very difficult to move to a new country--

beginning a new journey...

Mom had to give up everything for us.

Fast forward now; six years in America.

Both a blessing and a curse.

It has been really tough for me and my family here--

my mom especially.

She has always relied on my dad

But now...

she is her own boss.

She is my inspiration.

She works at a job she despises.

Even though it affects her mental state.

She has tried to stay brave for so long.

Even though she is not strong like stone,

tears always streaming down her cheeks...

Even though she may not have had a good education...

Her experiences give her the knowledge she needs.

To excel and be brave in any country or nation.

Her skin has so many scars and wounds;

Her hands like the color of tomatoes stewed.

Yet she rises up,

in spite of all the pain.

And the days that it rains

She strives to be better for me and my siblings.

I want to make her proud,

To repay her for all that she has done.

So that one day she will see the light and the beauty of the sun.

My mom is my inspiration

Because she has taught me to be a woman.

A woman of dedication.
