In My Memory

Location

As I gaze at my surroundings,

etching the small white house to memory,

Her oval glasses,

define her features,

the pink peonies,

waft a fragrant perfume,

Her porch swing,

sways with the breeze,

gathering fallen branches,

the cars on the highway,

zoom by the house,

the bushes sway,

softly as the wind blows,

with the breeze,

the scent of freshly cut grass,

is enhanced,

oh if I could cross,

the threshold of that house once more,

what joy it would be,

to enter the small white house,

forever engraved in my memory.
