My Passion

My heart beats in 8 counts.

Big bows and Nike pros,

Stunting and jumping,

Smiling after crying,

Success comes with my family.

Rolling out the mats,

Sharing all our snacks,

having each other’s backs,

We’re not just an activity.

Give us two minutes and thirty seconds on the floor

and you’ll always want more.

We’re more than a dolled up face

in a skirt every friday night,

We cheer to inspire the little girl in the stands

who wants to be just like us when she’s older.

We cheer for the athletes on the court and on the field.

Three years of life lessons

turned into my biggest blessing.

I cheer to make myself a better person,

and I am now.
