My Sonrise

The first thing I see when i walk in

A beautful, happy, and toothless grin

Its 7am and I just got off work

I'm tired, I'm hungry

my boss is a jerk

But when I look down

and see my boy smiling

Grinning, and giggling, and squirming an smiling

My heart melts like putty,

the morning's now great.

We cuddle and snuggle 'til quarter to 8

He looks at me smiling,

his eyes bright as day,

again he starts squirming

Its now time to play

He lies on his tummy

he rolls to his back

I beam with pride

and he beams right back

theres no better feeling at 7am

than seeing my son rise

again and again

A quick overview, this poem is about my 4 month old son who smiles constantly and his giggle is contagious (sp?) he's always excited to see me in the morning and every day he grows a little more and learns something new and it just... blows my mind! He really is the bright spot in every day
