"Nature's Mother and Son"

The forest was entirely still,

The deer stood alert and silent,

They knew the day had come,

To face the hunters who were violent.

Gunshots came and gunshots went,

Each animal fearful of its own fate,

Protecting each other from the fright,

They galloped along with a running mate.

A hard blow comes and knocks a mother down,

Her baby right at her side,

He doesn’t know what to do,

Stranded and lost without his mother as his guide.

He nuzzles his nose into her warm fur,

Saying one last goodbye,

Wishing they could be together,

With his mother’s love-he can’t deny.
