New Friends

Location

Silver and crimson over and over

Across my arms, along my wrists and neck

My good friends help me keep my composure

When I am stressed, help keep emotions in check

We all need a release and I had mine

I would have done well to keep it hidden

For ignorant others made resign

My only relief now made forbidden

Next they took all my good friends away

I was grounded till I could act “normal”

So now I must pretend to be okay

Lest I be sent back to the hospital

But fear not, I am no longer in pain

I made a new friend, her name Mary Jane
