The New Girl

That's who everyone knows me as

"The New Girl"

That is what my identity has become

Every year, I find myself in a new school

A new place

A new home

New surroundings close in on me and

I feel like I am losing myself

Dying a little inside

Every

Single

Day

Stares follow me as I take a step into my new school

Filled with strangers and unfamiliar faces

Looking desperately for some comfort

I seem to find none

It's funny because I should be used to this

But every time, it is a new struggle

A struggle that never seems to end

A struggle that consumes me

A struggle that takes over my life

A struggle that gives me this identity:

The New Girl
