New Orleans- Katrina

Hot, humid summer days. Sweat dripping from our unfamiliar faces. Working for our country, Smiles gather around. A friendly wave at every corner. When weather changes, Some moods go down. Fear in children's eyes. Memories racing through minds. Hurricane, a word no one wants to hear. Water stains still lurk, On houses, streets, and buildings. Walking on the rigid concrete, Plants grab your feet, Making you stumble. The pain in memories still goes on, The smiles never fade.
