Nip/Tuck The Eyes

Thu, 04/24/2014 - 20:39 -- Klaatu

The world has really let itself go.

It just doesn't look like it used to:

Some parts sag way down low,

some wouldn't even dewrinkle

if  a steamroller ran on it on a loop.

The halcyon of its life has come and gone.

But the earth is just an infant.

We have acted as carcinogens- tobacco to a tee-

Pushing the helpess blue life bubble towards a hasty

Adolescence like an overzealous pageant mom.

Worse now, we are pushing it toward inevitable death-

hunters running a herd of mammoths over a cliff.

This was yesterday, this is today, this is tomorrow.

I want to help.

Environmentalists are the only ones

left on earth with the power to see-

To see the devestation and the need to change.

I don't want to be blind anymore.

I will be one of them, we will see together

And we will help the rest see and help our

Unavenged victim- the earth.
