No Form...

I am in the ring,
A death corner shaded in blue
I am thirsty for a fight
My opponent stares and grins back at me
It has no face, no form, but its still there

It too wants me dead...
The bell rings, we shake hands, and I take the first blow

I am in a bed,
The covers are a cold blue
I scream and cry every night
Someone reaches towards me and tries to silence me
It has no touch, no form, but its still there

It too wants me quiet...
The bed shakes, I close my eyes, and I feel the first break

I stare at my “self” in the mirror,
My eyes are a frightened blue
I want to fly and be free
It glares back and tries to clip my wings
It has my body, my form, but its still there

It too wants me to shatter...
The mirror breaks, the feathers shed, and I hurt myself once again
