No Longer Waiting

I  sat in my "ivory tower"

Waiting for you to arrive

The days went on forever

Barely felt alive

Until I realized

My beauty is just fleeting

Long hair-don't care

That's not who I am

That's not what will save me,

Save me from someone like you

I let down my hair, opened my eyes

To the world around me

and

Now I'm free from the

Trappings of the tower that

kept

me from being

who I am

I'm so much more than my

long hair that

brought you here

Go away on your horse

Go away find another to keep

Tucked away in a tower

I'm not that girl

I'm Me
