No Love Lost

Typical dead beat dead is what you're labeled as,

I hate to say it dad, but man you made it that.

Many days i'd sit and constantly call your phone,

Just to get the voicemail or someone saying your gone.

Man I heard you in the background, I'm not stupid,

so the kid you thought you knew, you're about to lose him.

You never thought me anything except how to walk away,

and to ignore all the signs of life thats right in my face

But man I needed that

And child support yeah I needed that,

But never got it, I guess it be like that.

There's just some things that I may never understand, but I get it,

After all is is your life, i'm not telling you how to live it

Did your day hurt your feelings?

What's that got to do with me?

It's been a while since we talked, Im talking about 13

Years, since our last converstion

that actually meant something and lately I've just been waiting.

On my cell phone to ring with you on the other end,

with a couple words of wisdom or maybe a hand to lend.

It is what it is.

But as a man that's not stopping me

Thank you for showing me what not to be.
