no one warned me about how pretty bad ideas can seem at their time of inception

i called you babe

last night in a dream

you stuttered but said love

what do you need?

and made me your heart

and i felt whole again

by being just yours

every hair on end

you took my hand

and we saw the town

it was yellow and red

blue waves crashing down

you held me under shutters

and the sun was cool

we lay in bright shadows that

cover only me and you

we lived in that summer

and i loved your arms

and they fixed me up

but then broke my heart

and now it's so dark

a black and white life

till i fall asleep

and you color my night
