No One's Story

Thu, 07/04/2019 - 18:58 -- Necktie

To not only be able to tell mine
But to shed a flickering light onto others
A glass eye behind the lens
Peeking into the lives of all

Letters to words, the layers stack on
Sculpting a story terribly unique
Splashes of color, traced by fingertips
Inspired by the human canvases around me

Thoughts form erratically
Scattered, yet grasping desperately
To one thin string, silk, knotting
All of them together

However the rain falls
In sleek sheets or fat drops
Each one holds a story
You can pour out from the soul

In no other shape or form
Can this process be better
Cultivated, encapsulated
Than a poem

This poem is about:
Me
My community
Our world
