No Thanks, My Prince

Rapunzel, Rapunzel,

He called up to me.

I rushed to the window

Was this just a dream?

Rapunzel, Rapunzel,

Please let down your hair.

What a strange request!

But I send it down there.

After all,

I've been stuck up here for years, grumbling and wondering,

Why couldn't the witch have put my tower somewhere sunny?

My prince! My prince!

Please come to my aid!

And to my surprise (and pain)

He starts climbing my braid!

My prince! My prince!

This is a mistake.

I've changed my mind; leave!

I feel a great headache.

So he does,

And now I'm left in my tower, grumbling and wondering,

Why didn't he just bring a ladder or something?
