Nostalgia

It is extreme joy and heartache

You remember how it was before everything had changed

The throbbing feeling clenches at your weary soul

The light no longer sets in quite the same way

The whole of it has shifted in the way it is arranged

It is extreme joy and heartache

A lifetime could be re-lived in a single day

In this same town that somehow seems estranged

The throbbing feeling clenches at your weary soul

Nothing and everything is different since you went away

You are exalted and sorrowful that all you knew has changed

It is extreme joy and heartache

You had wanted so much to stay

Everything you loved has now been rearranged

The throbbing feeling clenches at your weary soul

So much is yet the same, be that as it may,

You wish not so much had changed

It is extreme joy and heartache

The throbbing feeling clenches at your weary soul
