To learning to be poised

Building a livingroom fort 

To flying alone at the airport

Searching for shells on the beach

To giving my classroom speech 

Realizing that I'm an adult 

What will come as a result?

Time for my child self to depart 

But I will always be a kid at heart

Developing into who I am 

Enlisting in a college program

It's now time to leave the nest 

I give my mom and dad the best
