Oath of a Peacemaker

Some situations seem less than ideal.

Some men will meet a stranger braced to fight.

Just brace thyself and talk with sheathed steel.

Ours is a bestial world we bring to heel.

Not everyone you meet will be polite.

Some situations seem less than ideal.

When possible, pray try to make a deal.

Decry the spill of blood, ne’er act of spite.

Just brace thyself and talk with sheathed steel.

Now to most men, peace often lacks appeal.

For peace means yielding some, to be forthright.

Some situations seem less than ideal.

Before these dogs of war one should not kneel.

But if there be dry tinder, ne’er ignite.

Just brace thyself and talk with sheathed steel.

There’s strength in peace, though it may seem surreal.

To safe existence we all have a right.

Some situations seem less than ideal.

Just brace thyself and talk with sheathed steel.
