An Ode to 12:09 PM
Location
This is an ode
to 12:09 PM
to the clock that displays it’s uneven hands
on the line after twelve
and the line before two.
This is an ode
To my hands moving fast
Trying to thinking of everything
That my mind has made last
before the seconds deplete.
Oh, what a feat
It’d be if I could …
This is an ode
to the time.
The time?
Oh my,
I made a rhyme.
Wait, I have to change the title of this poem
Because it’s now 12:14
and the time has changed.
Where’d the time go?
This is an ode
To 12:15 PM
For it’s perfect
Uneven hands
And my hands
For keeping up with my mind
And my eyes
And the lines
And the vines
And the pies
That my hands have touched
This is an ode
to Matt
for smiling back
when I smiled at him
For not acting like
My smile was weird
I like that
And I like Matt
And I like Matt’s smile
because it reminded me
to look at the time
because I wanted to make
the moment last
This is an ode to 12:19 PM
For the hand on the second line after 12
And the short hand on the dash before 4
And this has been an ode to
12:20 PM.
