Odes to my sixteenth year

My sixteenth year was like,

A beautiful cherry blossom,

Falling during the autumn.

I had my ups and downs.

One with plenty smiles and frowns

Odes to my sixteenth year.

My sixteenth year was like,

A train with no stop.

The year I got my first job.

Also the year my sister ran away.

Our bondage astray.

Odes to my sixteenth year.

They ask me how much I have grown,

I have grown like an interest rate on a loan.

My sixteenth year was like,

A very interesting dream.

One with a significant theme.

Odes to my sixteenth year.

My sixteenth year was like,

A sad story.

One that is remembered blurry.

The year where all I got for a present was cake.

A year I wish I could retake.

Odes to my sixteenth year.

Even though it was sad,

It wasn't that bad

I learnt a lot

And untangled so many knots

So, I would forever remember

Odes to my sixteenth year.
