The Old Memories

Old crumpled up paperAll the old letters, which collect dust in the boxThe box under the bed that I no longer look inThe one full of old memoriesThe memories that don’t seem to be anything anymoreThe old photos,Pictures of people I used to know,Faces I no longer recognize,They look so happy,The moments frozen, if only,If only I could go back and remember,Remember what was so funny, what made me so happywhat I was like back then, the girl frozen in the pictures,The words on the pages telling a story,A story I can no longer remembertalking about things I would never forget,Now I can no longer rememberOh but how good those moments must have been. How I wish I could remember the photos and letters I left for myself
