One Job May Change My Life

A wise man once said: “To all who come to this happy place, welcome,”

“Disneyland is your land….” And it is my land.

I’d rather be there than in the sky, sea, or sand.

I’ve been going there since I was two,

And my family goes every other year – well, we try to.

I love the environment that Walt has created.

And I can’t see how anyone could hate it.

Over the years I’ve developed a Disney obsession

Their movies have helped me overcome anxiety, anger, and depression.

I’ve chosen a college that would bring me closer to the Magic Kingdom,

Because it will help me grow and gain new wisdom

Of how the amusement park really works.

I want to go behind the scenes and see all the quirks –

All the ins and the outs. I want to know what it’s all about!

Honestly, I don’t care if I’m sweeping up popcorn everyday on Main Street,

Or maybe even play Cinderella during a meet-and-greet.

I just want to be there. I want to see it all!

I want to make children happy –tall or small

Bright or not, Chilly winter days or scalding hot.

I want to be in that park every minute, every second, of every day

And I don’t care what people will say

Because I “leave today…”

“…and enter the world of yesterday, Tomorrow and Fantasy”

A Disneyland Cast Member is what I want to be.

I want to major in Entertainment and Tourism Management

And CSUF is the only college that offers it.

Fullerton is 15 minutes outside of Anaheim,

Which is where my dream job resides.

Convenient? I think so. But it that where I want to go?

The trouble is, the campus is far away from my hometown

And I’ll have to put down

A good amount of money to get where I want to be.

My family will help me,

But there is a lot I need to do on my own.

I need to work more at my current job and maybe even take out a loan.

I’ll do whatever it takes – no matter the stakes, no matter the trouble it may create

As I’ve said before:

I want to be in that park every minute, every second, of every day for forevermore!
