One Job...May Change My Life

Do what you love and the money will follow is what they say. They don't tell you that the road to getting there may be shaky. They don't tell you the struggles, the indecision, the limits you must fight against to get to where you want to be. I'm a computer science major, but I hate everything about it. I want to be an animator, I want to be a 3-D modeler. I want to work for Disney, or Pixar, or somewhere in between. I want to live out my dream of bringing stories to life, the stories I myself grew up watching, the stories that fueled my imagination, the stories that were my childhood, the stories that I still love. The work, the effort, the creativity, the feeling of accomplishing a moving image pasted across a screen, every intricate detail shown, flawless movements, so human-like, but yet not quite...realistic. That's what I want to do with my life. I don't want to spend my life writing software. I don't want to spend my life isolated. I want to spend my life bring joy to others around me, creating a story that some day my own children will even watch, and perhaps be inspired by it. And nothing will stop me from my dream job; the only thing that could hinder me is myself, and I won't let her do that. Forget the money, shape your career around your life and your passion, and happiness will follow.
