The One Who Never Left My Side

I feel the eyes of others glaring at me, watching my every move.

Intense desire shines on their faces watching when I'll make a fool out of myself.

Once, I stumble they stare in disgust as if I'm some sort of scum upon their shoe.

Tears stream down my face like a roaring waterfall.

Darkness seems to envelope my sight, leaving me cold and alone.

At once I hear a voice, a voice of redemption.

This voice seemed so familiar but not the earthly kind.

Whispering into my soul words of comfort and joy.

Telling me that I'm worth more than all the gold in the world.

Little by little the darkness turned to light.

A figure of majestic beauty flooded my sight.

This magical being wore a rob white as snow.

Scars appeared on both of his wrists showing the sin that was taken for me.

Those who once scorned at me faded away in my mind like a dream.

The scarred hand grasped my hand, I know he'll never let go.

For once in my life the fear faded away.

I knew right then and there that I would never be alone.
